On Monday, the Christian Association of Nigeria spearheaded demonstrations in response to the ongoing terrorist attacks in Plateau State and other regions of the country.
The protest, known as the “Plateau Peace Walk,” is being championed by several notable Christian leaders in the state, including the state CAN chairman, Rev. Polycarp Lubo; ECWA President, Rev. Stephen Baba Panya; COCIN President, Rev. Amos Mohzo; Bishop of the Methodist Church, Jos; Rev. Nkechi Nwosu; and the President of the Gideon and Funmi-ParaMallam Peace Foundation, Rev. Dr. Gideon ParaMallam.
It’s worth noting that Parallel Facts had earlier reported on the attacks that occurred on Christmas Eve, which tragically claimed over 140 lives in Bokkos and nearby areas in Plateau State.
Following these attacks, the federal government’s reaction has been largely confined to issuing political statements and offering condolences to the victims. However, no concrete steps have been taken to bring those responsible for these violent acts to justice.
The demonstrators commenced the peace walk at the PRTVC Roundabout in Jos and made their way to the Rayfield Government House to voice their dissatisfaction with the prevailing security conditions.
