The Senate is set to screen the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor nominee, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, and four nominees for the positions of CBN Deputy Governors today.
Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, the former Chairman of the Board of Citi Bank Nigeria, who has been nominated for the position of CBN Governor alongside the four deputy governors to be, Mrs. Emem Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala Bello.
The screening will take place at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja. The session is scheduled to commence at 10:00 AM local time.
The nominees will be questioned on a range of issues, including their plans for the nation’s economy, their views on monetary policy, and their strategies for tackling inflation.
The screening comes at a crucial time for Nigeria’s economy, which has been grappling with inflation.
