Tinubu Will Revive Economy in Two Years – Lawmaker Assures Nigerians

The representative of Yagba Federal Constituency in Kogi State at the National Assembly, Leke Abejide, has urged all Nigerians, regardless of their political or religious affiliations, to support Bola Tinubu’s administration for a minimum of two years.

He emphasized the importance of allowing the administration’s policies to unfold and yield positive results.

Abejide made this plea on Saturday during a grand reception hosted in his honor by the Yoruba community in Kano State.

The event also marked the conferral of the title of Asiwaju of Yoruba Kano upon him by His Royal Highness, the Oba Yoruba of Kano, Dr. Murtala Otisese.

”I have the confidence that the Tinubu administration will make the economy better for the country. I have said it before, it is like when a woman is in labour there is a lot of pain pending when she delivers.

“If You are looking at the policies the government is making, you will know that we should give at least two years, I know it is a long time for people who are in hardship, but in less than two years you will see the impact, the economy is going to be transformed. I have that belief,” he said.

Abejide, who also serves as the Chairman of the Customs and Excise Committee of the House of Representatives, emphasized, “I urge everyone to remain patient as the outcomes will ultimately benefit us all.”

Addressing the 4.5 million Yorubas residing in Kano, the Asiwaju Yoruba Kano pledged to finalize the construction of the Oba Yoruba of Kano’s palace. Dr. Alimi Otisese, the Oba Yoruba of Kano, commended Elder Abejide during the title bestowal, highlighting his significant support for Yorubas in Kano, particularly in empowering widows and orphans, which led to his appointment as Asiwaju of Yoruba Kano.

Representing Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, Alhaji Abdussalam Abdullatif, the Special Adviser on Yoruba Affairs, affirmed the state administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends to all residents.

Abejide’s roots trace back to Kano, where he spent his formative years before returning to his native Kogi State. He successfully contested and won elections to the House of Representatives under the African Democratic Congress banner in 2019 and 2023.
