The Nigerian Federal Government has pledged to reward the Super Eagles for their outstanding performance and dedication in reaching the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Nigerian team faced a tough challenge in the semi-final match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Wednesday. Despite a hard-fought contest that ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time, the Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 4-2 win on penalties.

Following this impressive victory, Kashim Shettima, who was present at the match to support the Eagles, personally conveyed the government’s appreciation to the players and officials in the dressing room.
He emphasized that the government and people of Nigeria are immensely proud of their achievement.
This announcement was shared via a post on the Super Eagles X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.
Shettima was accompanied to the Eagles’ dressing room after the game by Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, Minister for Youth Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, oil mogul Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council Member Amaju Pinnick, and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
