Cairo Ojuogboh, a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State and a notable chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has tragically passed away while watching Nigeria v South Africa.
According to sources close to the family, Ojuogboh’s demise occurred on Wednesday night while he was engrossed in watching the AFCON 2023 semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.
Reports indicate that Ojuogboh collapsed during a critical moment of the game when South Africa was awarded a penalty in the latter stages of the match at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.

The match concluded with Nigeria emerging victorious in a thrilling 4-2 penalty shootout, securing a spot in the AFCON 2023 final against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.
Ojuogboh, who also served as a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), leaves behind a legacy of public service and political involvement.
