Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has acknowledged that Nigeria lost the Africa Cup of Nations final due to the tactics employed by the coaching crew.

Omeruo disclosed that the team played too defensively, resulting in a lack of opportunities in attack against the host nation.

In a video shared on social media, Omeruo stated, “I don’t know. I think it wasn’t our day. We couldn’t create a lot of chances, and we played too deep.”

Despite acknowledging the commendable performance of Ivory Coast, the 2013 AFCON winner conveyed the disappointment within the Nigerian camp.

Omeruo expressed the sadness among Super Eagles players, highlighting their hard work and deserving efforts throughout the tournament.
