Tinubu Increasing Cost of Governance Through Back Door With Bloated List of Dignitaries — CUPP

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has voiced strong objections and condemned the inclusion of Bola Tinubu’s two sons, Seyi and Yinka, in Nigeria’s official delegation to Qatar.

Expressing dismay over what they perceive as a surge in the cost of governance due to an inflated delegation that includes family members, the CUPP leadership has raised significant concerns.

Addressing reporters in Abuja, Peter Ameh, the National Secretary of CUPP, questioned the roles of Seyi Tinubu and Yinka Tinubu, sons of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, within the official delegation to Qatar.

Ameh criticized this move, arguing that such positions should have been reserved for professionals well-versed in negotiating beneficial deals for Nigeria’s economy.

Ameh accused Tinubu of contradicting his purported commitment to reducing the cost of governance, while allegedly exacerbating it through a delegation that includes family members lacking the necessary experience in international affairs and bilateral trade negotiations.

Describing the situation as a mismanagement of public finances, Ameh raised concerns about potential corruption within the government.

He stated, “In what capacity is Seyi Tinubu and Yinka Tinubu, sons of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, traveling to Qatar on the official list of Nigeria’s delegation?

“While Tinubu is busy deceiving Nigerians that he is serious about cutting down cost of governance, he is increasing such cost through the back door with a bloated list of dignitaries, which includes his family members.

“Slots that should have been given to professionals who are well equipped to negotiate a good deal for our collapsing economy and country are given to his children. His children have no idea or experience required in this business of international affairs and relations with bilateral trade between countries.

“This is why his government has brought more misery to the Nigerian people than any government in the history of our country. This is a clear case of mismanagement of public finances, and an obvious signs of corruption in government.”
