Today, in broad daylight, dozens of passengers commuting in an eighteen-seater bus operated by the Katsina State Transport Authority fell victim to kidnapping by terrorists.
The armed criminals intercepted the bus, which bore registration number 14B-300-KT, while it was en route from Funtua local government area to Katsina local government area.
According to an eyewitness who shared their account with Channels Television, the majority of passengers were traveling between the two local government areas when the bandits launched their attack.
The ambush occurred between the Burdugau and Yargoje communities, just before reaching Kankara town.
As of now, no official statements have been released regarding the incident.

Kankara, situated in Katsina South, is one of the frontline local government areas where both residents and commuters live in constant fear of bandit attacks.
The North-West state of Nigeria has been severely affected by banditry, making it one of the most afflicted regions in the country.
