Katsina State To Disburse N560 Million to Boost Security

The Katsina State Government has granted the release of N560 million for the purchase of security equipment as part of its plan to fight insecurity across the state. Nasir Danmusa made this known during his address to the media in Katsina on Thursday.

The commissioner for internal security and Home Affairs briefed the media after the state executive council meeting and noted that security equipment needed will be handed over to newly recruited security personnel in the States.

“The approval is coming ahead of the graduation of about 1,500 recruited as personnel of the Katsina security watch network.” The commissioner explained.

He continues, “The graduating personnel of the security watch would use part of the combat equipment that augments that of the conventional security agencies in the state in fighting bandits and other criminals.”

He concluded, “Kafur, Malumfashi, and Bindawa are classified as vulnerable local governments, following bandit attacks experienced in recent times.”

Recall that the Kaduna state government recently founded a security watch corps, hence the recruitment of about 1,500 youths, as they plan to defend their communities with these recruits.
