Headless Body of Woman Found in Osogbo, Police Begin Probe

The Osun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the discovery of a headless woman’s body opposite the Osogbo Local Government Secretariat in Okebaale, Osogbo, on Tuesday.

Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the presence of the corpse in the area during an interview on Tuesday, stating that appropriate authorities have been notified to remove the body.

Opalola further stated that the investigation has been launched by operatives to unravel the circumstances surrounding the placement of the body at the location where it was discovered.

She said, “Concerning the dead body of a headless and armless woman that was found opposite Osogbo LG secretariat, Oke Baale, I want to inform you that the police are aware.

“The necessary authority has been contacted for the immediate evacuation of the Corpse, while discreet investigation is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, the discovery of the corpse in the vicinity instigated panic among residents, prompting them to convene and speculate on the events that may have resulted in the mutilation of the deceased.

Several residents of the area, who preferred not to be named, shared their thoughts on the incident, suggesting that the victim’s head and arms were severed by unidentified assailants.

They mentioned that the woman was familiar to the neighborhood, noting that she often frequented the area as she was homeless.

Additionally, they stated that they recognized the deceased by the clothing she was wearing and urged for a thorough investigation to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
