Controversial singer and Zazu Crooner, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, is a Nigerian musician and owner of the Zeh Nation record label. In a recent Instagram live session with followers, Portable made the promise that if his artists decided to leave his record label, he would reclaim the automobiles he had purchased for them.
The Zazu crooner pointed out that his artists have not made more than N70,000 since joining his record label. In spite of this, he has given them expensive cars.
“Do you know how many record labels signed Abuga before I signed him and gave him fame? Use your brain, bro. No enviousness. No ripping. Zeh Nation,” he said.
He further added that he will collect the cars he bought for his artists, namely ‘Youngiduu’ and ‘Abuga’, when they leave his record label. Portable said the “cars are the record label’s properties. I’m the one promoting the record label. I’m the top artist on the record label. I’m the one making all the money for the record label.”
A discussion about the nature of contracts and agreements between musicians and their record labels has been triggered by this comment. Portable, however, has not yet offered any additional remarks on this subject.
