Brymo, the vocalist also known as Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, has asserted that his musical peer, Burna Boy, doesn’t match his artistic caliber.
He made these remarks during an episode of “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” hosted by skit creator Bae U Barbie. Brymo’s comments came in response to Burna Boy’s recent freestyle diss, where he hinted that Brymo’s career had taken a downturn.
“Is it [the diss freestyle] not Burna Boy lyrics? But he would like to know that nothing in this world would put his name in my song. He no reach my standard,” the singer said.
He also said that he is the “finest vocalist” in Africa.
“I’m not proud enough. I’m probably the finest vocalist on the continent. Better than anybody. I’m not thinking. I know this,” he said.
“And yeah, even Twitter guys can’t disagree with him despite the hate. You can win an Award, but that doesn’t mean you’re the best man for that award.”
In a recent development, DAILY POST recollects the incident where Burna Boy criticized Brymo during a freestyle session with his band in October last year.
This came after he accused Burna Boy of song theft, claiming that Burna Boy’s tracks ‘City Boys’ and ‘I Told Them’ featured samples from the title track of Brymo’s forthcoming album, ‘Macabre’.
