After a report criticized Peter Obi, 2023 presidential candidate of being a bad example to Nigerians for not wearing a life jacket during a canoe ride, a video has emerged online showing Omoyele Sowore, 2023 presidential candidate for the AAC, standing on a flying boat without a life jacket.
Sowore’s hypocritical attitude was revealed when his media organization, Sahara Reporters, published a report titled ‘Junior Pope’s Death: Nigerian Tweeps Tackle Peter Obi For Not Wearing Lifejacket During Canoe Ride, Say He’s A Bad Example.’
The report accused Peter Obi of setting a bad example by publishing pictures of him without a life jacket during a canoe ride, but failed to mention a similar incident involving Sowore, who was caught on video standing on a flying boat without a life jacket.”
Obi came under attack after offering his condolences to the family of the late Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope and four others in a boat accident on Wednesday.
Recall that Parallel Facts reported that Junior Pope, who drowned while attempting to cross the River Niger during the making of a movie, had finally been confirmed dead.
Commenting on the video, some netizens lambasted Sowore for his hypocrisy. An X user, Ejikeme stated, “Omoyele Sowore is a bad example to Nigerian Youths. How can a presidential candidate stand on a flying boat without Life-Jacket.’
