Israel’s decision to halt all shipments of food, water, electricity, and fuel to the Gaza Strip has drawn criticism from the UN.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, stated today in Geneva that it is against international humanitarian law to deny people their basic necessities.
He said, “The imposition of sieges that endanger the lives of civilians by depriving them of goods essential for their survival is prohibited under international humanitarian law.”

Recall that Israel earlier mentioned that a complete siege is activated and food, water, electricity, etc. are being stopped from going into Palestine, Parallel Facts reported.
Palestine’s attack on Israel has taken over 900 lives.
Meanwhile, Israel’s retaliatory strikes have also claimed several hundred lives.
Turk insisted that Israel also said, “Any restrictions on the movement of people and goods to implement a siege must be justified by military necessity or may otherwise amount to collective punishment.”
