The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has pinpointed inadequate financing and insufficient gas supply as key factors contributing to the energy shortfall nationwide.
Speaking at the power sector stakeholders’ interactive dialogue hosted by the House of Representatives Committee on Power in Abuja on Tuesday, Adelabu underscored the pressing need to address these issues.
Despite lamenting the current state of power supply, he conveyed the commitment of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to tackle these challenges and enhance Nigeria’s business environment.
He said “No sector can function optimally without the power sector. Over the years, poor financing, and inadequate gas supply have been responsible for the energy deficit we have in the country. But a lot of work is going on to address these challenges.”
The gathering boasts esteemed attendees including Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power; Victor Nwokolo, his counterpart in the House of Representatives; and Mr. Kola Adesina, the Group Managing Director of Sahara Power Group, alongside other notable figures.
