The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in Nigeria has reported a total of 62 cases of alleged manhood disappearance.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna G. Garba, disclosed this during a press conference at the command’s headquarters.
Garba, revealed today that out of the 62 cases brought to the command’s attention, 51 were found to be false alarms.
He elaborated that those who had raised these false alarms were now under arrest and facing legal proceedings, while urging the public to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to maintain a crime-free environment in the city.
“The first incident of male organ disappearance was documented in Gwagwalada on September 21, 2023. Since then, the phenomenon has spread throughout the FCT, resulting in a total of 62 reported cases to date,” he stated.
He further added, “We have charged 51 suspects to court for disseminating false information and causing public unrest. I want to reaffirm my dedication and readiness to collaborate with you, the residents of FCT, to combat crime in all its manifestations in the Federal Capital Territory.”
The Commissioner urged the public to remain calm and not panic. He reassured citizens that the police are doing everything within their power to get to the bottom of these incidents. He also warned against spreading unverified information, which could lead to unnecessary panic and chaos.
The police are appealing to anyone with information related to these cases to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations, while assuring that any information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
