The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has encouraged Muslims to construct mosques and persist in their contributions to the advancement of Islam.
He noted that such efforts would foster unity, peace, and prosperity within the Muslim community and the nation.
Addressing attendees on Friday during the official opening of the Sulaiman Muhammad Juma’at Mosque in Argungu, Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi, Sultan Abubakar highlighted the significance of both small and large gestures of support for Islam.
He stressed that the most meaningful support is that which is done solely for the sake of Allah.
“Anyone who builds a mosque for prayers has established a road to paradise; I encourage every one of us to emulate this gigantic gesture,” he urged.
Mr. Abubakar emphasized that Islam is renowned for its commitment to peace, urging clerics to steadfastly advocate for harmony and unity within their communities and across the nation.
The construction of the mosque was overseen by Suleiman Argungu, the national organizing secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi, along with the APC national chairman and former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje, joined other national party dignitaries in attending the commissioning ceremony.
