Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, affirmed his commitment to prioritizing the interests of the people and reversing any policies not aligned with their welfare.
Speaking during a visit from the Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, Oliver Ali Abba, Otti assured that his administration would uphold selfless leadership dedicated to the welfare of Abia residents.
Governor Otti emphasized his administration’s dedication to promptly rectifying mistakes and ensuring policies reflect the will of the people.
He acknowledged imperfection but pledged to swiftly correct any actions detrimental to the populace.
He stated, “This is a very selfless leadership in Abia State; leadership that is oriented towards the welfare of the people of Abia, and we have taken very bold initiatives in reversing anything that we find that will not be in the interest of Abia people.
“We are not perfect and we do not say that we do not make mistakes but deliberate efforts at doing things that would not be in the interest of the people, it would not happen here under my watch,” he assured.
Expressing gratitude to the Methodist Church for their support during the 2023 gubernatorial elections, Otti reaffirmed his administration’s focus on serving the people of Abia.

The Prelate, in turn, said he was in the State on a routine apostolic visit to the diocese in Umuahia Archdiocese, commended Otti’s achievements in office and encouraged him to challenge outdated governance practices while seeking divine guidance.
Accompanying the Prelate were clerics including the Archbishop of Archdiocese of Umuahia Methodist Church, Most Rev. Chibuzo Opoko, who echoed the call for principled leadership and urged Otti to champion positive change in governance.
