Divine Rays British School in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State has emerged victorious in the 2024 National Mathematics Competition, winning six gold medals.
The competition, organized by Catalyst Consulting, took place across various states in Nigeria and involved students from primary and secondary school levels.
The competition was divided into four categories: lower primary, upper primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary. Students from Divine Rays British School competed in the primary section and clinched gold in all categories they participated in. The winning students are Okonkwo Chiziterem, Ezievuo Kosiso S., Nwabueze Chikamso S., Okoye Emmanuella C., Okonkwo Amarachi J., and Uche Chiemerie Victoria.
The Headmistress of Divine Rays British School, Mrs. Ifeoma Ucheama, expressed her joy over the school’s achievement. “This success shows the hard work and dedication of both our students and the coaching staff,” she said. Mrs. Ucheama praised the commitment of the school’s coaches and the support from parents and guardians. “We are very grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement from parents, guardians, and well-wishers.”
Mrs. Ucheama also acknowledged the efforts of Catalyst Consulting in organizing the competition. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of the National Mathematics Tournament for providing this platform for our students to excel in mathematics,” she added.
