Iranian Varsity Honours Sheikh El-Zakzaky

The founder of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky has received an honourary doctorate degree from Tehran University in Iran.

Sheikh El-Zakzaky received the honorary doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) in appreciation for his services to the field of world studies: peace and conflict resolution.

The University Senate carefully examined the Sheikh’s life, education, and struggles before unanimously approving the prize.
 
On October 14, 2023, a convocation event was held. Members of the IMN have become impassioned in their demands that humanity be freed from slavery, tyranny, and injustice as a result of this development.

Dr Fatima Hassan who spoke on behalf of the Shi’ites emphasised how their demand demonstrates their dedication to advancing justice and freedom.

She said the honourary doctorate conferred on Sheikh El-Zakzaky is evidence of his continuous dedication to justice and peace.
 
The importance of this honour was emphasised by the University of Tehran, which is ranked 2nd in Iran and 495th in the world by the Centre for World University Rankings.

Sheikh El-Zakzaky is the head of the Islamic movement in several African nations.
