The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) organized a significant prayer session for Chief Bola Tinubu, the nation, and other key figures.
The event, which took place on Monday, started at noon and continued until the evening. It was held at the Makurdi private residence of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
The prayer session was divided into two parts. The first part occurred at the chapel, and the second part was held in the open ground within the same premises. The event was attended by state party leaders, members, and several clergymen who led the prayers.
The bishops in attendance led the congregation in eight prayer points. They prayed for Nigeria’s peace, wisdom, and knowledge for Chief Tinubu, a revival of the nation’s economy, and solutions to security challenges. They also sought divine intervention in the ongoing nationwide strike.
Additionally, prayers were offered for the security situation in Benue State and for God to touch the heart of the state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, to resolve his differences with the party stakeholders.
Austin Agada, the state party chairman, explained the reason behind the prayer session. “This prayer session was organized for Chief Bola Tinubu, the nation, and the SGF, Senator George Akume, on the occasion of one year in office,” he said.
He further added, “Considering the country’s situation—the security challenges, the economy, and the ongoing strike by organized labor—we need to pray for the chief and his team for God’s guidance and intervention.”
Agada emphasized the importance of seeking divine help for the reforms being formulated to lead the nation towards greatness. He assured that the state and the north-central geopolitical zone would continue to support Chief Tinubu and pray for his success.
