Actress Toyin Abraham has declared that she will never disclose her political affiliations after facing backlash for openly supporting Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
The actress, who was vocal about her support for the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, faced criticism on social media following Tinubu’s inauguration.
In response to a user’s inquiry about whether she would share Tinubu’s plans with the public, Abraham expressed disappointment, stating that she believed in promises of good governance and happiness for everyone.
On Tuesday an X user stated, “Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public,” the user asked.
“I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u @toyin_abraham1.”
In response, Abraham stated, “Of course, I was told and promised good governance and happiness for everyone and I believed.
“If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it? Because I remember I voted for Jonathan and I was bullied but I didn’t blame anyone after everyone chose Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time?
Subsequently, the user asked if she believed her candidate had failed at the moment in governance, Abraham, while avoiding the question, said she had learnt her lesson never to be open with her political affiliation.
The actress added, “I have faced my life and career cos I am not a politician and I’m not in government, I have learnt my lesson never ever to be open with my choice again.”
