The Director-General of the Land Forces Simulation Centre (LFSC), Maj.-Gen. Usman Yusuf, has called on Nigerians to continue praying for the Armed Forces to overcome the security challenges facing the nation.
This appeal was made during a special Juma’at prayer held in Abuja on Friday as part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024.
“I urge Nigerians to continue praying for the country, our leaders, and Almighty God to guide them,” Yusuf stated. “And to also pray for the Armed Forces to overcome all the security challenges we face.”
Yusuf also emphasized the importance of civilian support, urging Nigerians to provide the military with critical information to help combat security threats effectively.
“We also beg Nigerians to give us as much information as they can give us so that we can win these battles as quickly as possible,” he added.

The special Juma’at prayer marks the beginning of the week-long 2024 NADCEL commemoration, which concludes on July 6. The Brigade Imam, Guards Brigade, Capt. Salisu Musa, led the prayer on behalf of the Director of Islamic Affairs.
Capt. Musa highlighted the need for proper religious training, attributing the rise of insecurity, such as terrorism, to a lack of fear of God and humanity. He equally stressed the importance of every member of society becoming a preacher and counsellor to instill moral values.
NADCEL is an annual event celebrating the Nigerian Army’s journey and achievements since its establishment 161 years ago.
