The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has encouraged graduating students to take advantage of the education they have received and bring change in their societies.
Obi made this known on Sunday while delivering a Keynote address at the 6th Graduation Ceremony of Jesuit Memorial College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He expressed happiness at the privilege he had to address the young minds and future of the Nation who are done with school and are sent forth into the world to continue their educational pursuit and other aspects of life.
In his words, ” Today, I delivered a Keynote address at the 6th Graduation Ceremony of Jesuit Memorial College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where I took time to encourage the graduating students who were going into the wider world to either continue their educational pursuits or to face other productive endeavours.

“As always, I was glad to interact with the young students whose future we must invest in through our investment in this very critical measure of development – education.
“As future leaders of our society, they must appreciate the education they have received so far and then become change agents in society,” he stated.
Obi further lamented how the Nation lags because enough investment has not been made in the educational sector.
” Our nation today is underdeveloped because we have not invested sufficiently in education”.
Obi, however, encouraged the graduating students by sharing his personal educational journey stressing the need to focus on being productive and not focusing on what they’ll gain for themselves.
“In encouraging the students, I shared my journey to success with them and urged them to remain productive wherever they subsequently find themselves, and not be fixated on material gains,” he added.
