During the trial, the prosecution, represented by Muyiwa Ogunleye from the Ministry of Justice, presented compelling evidence.

The court heard that the defendants conspired to rob and fatally attack Mukaila, stealing his phone, recharge cards, and other valuables.

The charges brought against them included conspiracy to murder under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. 34, Vol. 2, Laws of Osun, 2002, as well as armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms under relevant federal laws.

State Counsel Mrs. Ibukun Adeoye and Chief State Counsel Muyiwa Ogunleye presented their case, bolstered by four witnesses and important exhibits like the murder weapon and the autopsy report of the dead.

The accused, backed by attorneys Shina Olaniyan, Folashade Ipede, and Suleiman Akano, contended in their defence that the prosecution had not provided enough evidence to support the allegations made against their clients.

Judge Adedapo Adeniji, the presiding judge, made a definitive ruling, stating that the prosecution had proven every accusation beyond a reasonable doubt and consequently sentenced Oladele, Muyiwa, and Kareem to death.
