Gareth Southgate Has Left His role as Manager of England National Team

Gareth Southgate has resigned as England manager two days after the team’s Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.

The 53-year-old departs after eight years in charge of the Three Lions, during which he led the team through four major tournaments.

In a heartfelt statement, he stated, “As a proud Englishman, it has been the honour of my life to play for England and to manage England.

“It has meant everything to me, and I have given it my all. But it’s time for change, and for a new chapter. I’m leaving my role,” he added.

Southgate’s resignation marks the end of a significant era for England’s national team. Appointed in 2016, he guided England to notable achievements, including a semi-final appearance in the 2018 World Cup and a runner-up finish in the 2020 European Championship.
