Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has labeled the Bola Tinubu-led government as a “sinking regime.”
Sowore’s remarks came in response to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, presidential media aide, who accused supporters of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi of plotting nationwide protests to destabilize the current administration.
Sowore, known for his activism and social media mobilization, took to X to dismiss Onanuga’s claims.
He argued that no amount of fear or manipulation could suppress the growing discontent among Nigerians.
Sowore emphasized that the populace is increasingly disillusioned with what he described as the ruling class’s deceit, corruption, and incompetence, and is prepared to take action nationwide.
He stated, ”The drivel from a sinking regime. There is nothing that could stop an idea whose time has come.
”It doesn’t matter how you frame your fears and shenanigans, and the truth is that Nigerians are tired of the deceit, corruption, wickedness and incompetence of the ruling class and have opted to act from all locations at once,” he added.
