Prominent journalist David Hundeyin has revealed that Aliko Dangote, Nigeria’s foremost industrialist, has initiated a form of protest against the current administration led by Bola Tinubu.
This comes in response to increasing governmental pressures and alleged unfair treatment towards his business ventures, particularly the Dangote Refinery.
According to Hundeyin, Dangote’s protest manifests in a slowdown of operations at his refinery, a strategic move aimed at signaling his dissatisfaction with the government’s recent actions.
The Dangote Refinery, touted as a pivotal project for Nigeria’s energy sector, has faced numerous challenges, including regulatory hurdles and what is perceived as targeted interference from the Tinubu administration.

This protest is seen by many as Dangote’s way of leveraging his significant economic influence to push back against the federal government. Hundeyin suggests that the business mogul is utilizing his control over the refinery to highlight the detrimental impact of the administration’s policies on his operations and, by extension, the broader Nigerian economy.
The standoff between Dangote and the Tinubu administration raises concerns about the potential repercussions for Nigeria’s industrial sector. Observers worry that continued friction could undermine investor confidence and stall critical economic projects, further straining an already fragile economy.
