World Bank has awarded Federal Government of Nigeria a $17 million grant to support adolescent education throughout the nation.
The Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, made this declaration on Tuesday at the Ministerial Roundtable on National Child Wellbeing, which was hosted in Abuja by the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES).
Over 950,000 instructors will be employed nationwide, and 20,000 classrooms will be built with the help of the funding.
In this endeavor, the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) will be heavily involved.
According to Hajia Sanusi of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, more than 21 million children are unregistered at birth, and over 70 million children do not receive an education at all.
This effort is anticipated to improve Nigerian education and ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be met.
