In recent days, Nigerians have expressed mounting frustration over the government’s failure to implement minimum wage policies, with many accusing officials of neglecting the economic struggles of the working class.
The minimum wage which was signed by Bola Tinubu is expected to be effective but the NYSC officials in a post on X handle says they are waiting for directives from the federal government and relevant authorities.
Nigerians argue that the non-implementation of the minimum wage has worsened living conditions, leaving many unable to cope with the rising cost of living and prompting widespread calls for immediate action.
Compounding the dissatisfaction is a growing movement advocating for the abolition of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. Critics argue that the NYSC, originally designed to foster national unity and provide recent graduates with work experience, has become an ineffective and outdated institution.
Many Nigerians are calling for substantial reforms to address systemic problems and improve the overall effectiveness of government policies.
