The Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Hon Christopher Audu, has been left to battle for his life after he was attacked during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election.
The election, which was held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Ba’ap, the headquarters of Qua’an Pan LGA, was to determine the party’s flag-bearer for the upcoming local government elections in Plateau State.
An observer, Michael Bulus who spoke to Daily Trust said though the process commenced on a peaceful note, things became violent after the TIC chairman was declared winner.
“Without any explanation or engagement with the organizers of the event, the men began to scatter things at the venue, intimidate, and brutalize many of the participants and organizers, while the armed men stood by, including some dressed in police uniforms,” he said.
