Amid growing economic hardship, Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) have raised the fuel pump price to N855 per litre.
This has sparked widespread concern over the potential impact on the cost of living and the overall economy.
The move is expected to have a ripple effect, leading to increased prices of goods and services, heightened transportation costs, and deeper financial challenges for households and businesses across the country.
According to People’s Gazette, Femi Soneye, the NNPCL spokesperson, “I’m not aware. But I’ll find out.”

Fuel prices have dwindled between N580 per litre to N700 per litre since Bola Tinubu took over power and announced the removal of fuel subsidies in 2023.
As the nation grapples with these challenges, many are questioning the government’s decision and its long-term implications for Nigeria’s economic stability and social welfare.
