Amid ongoing fuel scarcity, the Edo State Government has indefinitely suspended the resumption of both public and private schools across the state.
This decision was conveyed in an official statement signed by Ojo Akin-Longe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, on September 6, 2024.
According to the statement, the postponement is due to tensions arising from the recent increase in fuel prices, which has placed significant challenges on parents and guardians.
The government has urged parents, guardians, and caregivers to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards, considering the current situation and the rising tension resulting from the fuel price hike.
