Following released documents linked to the Chicago heroin trafficking ring allegedly involving Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), it has been discovered that the head of the white heroin trafficking organization, One Lee Andrew Edwards, based in Gary, Indiana, was responsible for supplying multiple kilos of white heroin monthly to a Nigerian drug trafficking group.
Recall that the FBI vowed to start releasing approximately 2,500 documents relating to President Bola Tinubu in its database in October following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by Aaron Greenspan of PlainSite and Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin.
On Tuesday, October 31, the Bureau announced the release of the first tranche of documents via his verified social media handle.
According to reports titled “Tinubu et al.,”, the Nigerian drug trafficking group, possibly headed by Adegboyegai Akande, was based in Chicago, and Tinubu is alleged to be a member.
The document partly read, “This investigation was initiated on March 16, 1990. Subject Edwards is the head of the White Heroin Trafficking Organization, based in Gary, Indiana. This organization is responsible for the distribution of multiple kilos of white heroin each month.

“Edwards employs numerous persons in his heroin trafficking operation. It is believed that Edwards earns between $15,000 and $20,000 each day through this operation. Edwards owns numerous residences and commercial properties, which he utilizes in his drug distribution operation. Edwards has been previously arrested on drug charges.”
The report further noted that Edwards was making as much as $15, 000 to $20,000 per day through his operation.
“Edwards’ source of supply white heroin is a Nigerian drug trafficking group possibly headed by Subject Adegboyega Akande, based in Chicago.”
According to the report, Edwards owns numerous residence and commercial properties, which he utilizes in his drug distribution operation, and this enhanced a smooth drug trafficking chain between his fellow perpetrators.
