Tinubu Shifting Nigerian Economy From Consumption to Production—Says Eniola Badmus Amid Hardship, Govt Spending Spree

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has praised the Nigerian economy under Bola Ahmed Tinubu, despite the large amounts of money being spent on ‘frivolities’ by the current administration, which has contributed to widespread hardship

She pointed out that the country’s imports are decreasing while exports are increasing, signaling economic growth.

Eniola emphasized that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has made remarkable progress in trade, shifting from a focus on consumption to increased production.

“For the year-to-date 2024, our imports were N24.44 trillion, while our exports stood at N38.59 trillion. This gives us an unprecedented trade surplus of over N14 trillion in just eight months.

“It has never happened in Nigeria. Never. This is a refreshing shift from consumption to production.”

Her praise comes in the midst of unprecedented hardship and rising inflation in the country.

Last month, millions of people protested the worsening conditions in a movement called the ‘End Hunger Protests.’
