In a statement released on Friday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command in Ikeja, it was revealed that the officers found the two women in possession of two newborn baby girls, about six days old, as they traveled from Abia State on September 9, 2024.

Investigations revealed that the women were en route to meet a nurse in Lagos State, whom the babies’ mother had promised to connect them with upon their arrival.

During questioning, Una and Igbechionwu admitted their involvement, disclosing they were paid One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦150,000) to transport the infants. They further explained that the mother sold the babies due to her inability to care for them.
