Amid the ongoing Edo State election, Nigerians have expressed anger over claims that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is offering ₦10,000 per vote, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is giving ₦3,000 to voters to buy votes.
Citizens are blaming the government for worsening economic conditions, accusing them of deliberately allowing hunger to push people into selling their votes.
The issue of vote-buying in the Edo State election became widely known on Twitter, where Nigerians reacted to the allegations.
Popular Music artist ” Davido” joined the conversation on his official Twitter page, expressing frustration by saying that the government has deliberately kept people hungry so they are forced to sell their votes.
Many Nigerians echoed similar concerns, blaming the worsening economic situation for influencing voters’ choices.
However, reacting on Twitter, @Queenofbkues1 wrote, “To buy votes.That’s what APC and PDP are banking on. To buy votes. Two useless parties with mumu people selling their votes.”
