BREAKING: PDP Rejects Edo Election Result Announced by INEC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of the Edo State Governorship election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

During a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, Acting National Chairman Amb. Umar Damagum emphasized that the people of Edo State voted for the PDP’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, and expect him to be declared governor-elect.

Damagum urged INEC to take advantage of the provisions in the Electoral Act to correct its course.

He also claimed that the PDP had previously alerted the public about plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC), in collaboration with “the compromised INEC and the AIG of Police in charge of the zone,” to manipulate the electoral process before their scheme was executed.
