Former Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna has weighed in on the long-standing debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Senna, who faced both players numerous times during his 11-season stint at Villarreal, has expressed a preference for Messi, citing the Argentine’s passing ability and greater influence on the game.
Speaking via Portuguese outlet A Bola, Senna explained, “When I was asked before if I preferred Messi or Cristiano, I always chose Messi because of the pace.
“He had more presence in the game. More diversity of passes and different things.”
