Chief of Staff to Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, who fled the U.S. after being exposed for defrauding a client, claims that Mr Tinubu has a deep love for the suffering Nigerian masses.
“The one thing we know about Tinubu is his love for the masses. When anybody tells you why this policy? People are hungry; Mr President sees it all and is pained,” said Mr Gbajabiamila at 2024 All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West Assembly held at the Eko Hotel, Lagos on Saturday.
He added, “We will continue to advise him, we will continue to talk to him, we will continue to put heads together. Governance is about everybody.”
In September 2023, Peoples Gazette delved into Femi Gbajabiamila’s controversial past as a legal practitioner in Georgia, revealing how he fled the U.S. after stealing $25,000 from a client and returned to Nigeria to launch his political career.
Gbajabiamila’s recent comments come just days after President Tinubu returned from an overseas vacation, while Nigerians continue to cry out over the skyrocketing cost of living.

Under Tinubu’s administration, petrol prices have surged from N145 to nearly N1,000, and the naira now trades at approximately N1,700 due to his dual policies of fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, leading to an unprecedented rise in the cost of living.
In August, thousands of Nigerians took to the streets across the nation in protests that lasted 10 days, voicing their anger over economic hardships.
They criticized Tinubu’s government for asking for patience from the people while he and other officials live lavishly on taxpayers’ money.
In December 2023, it was reported that Gbajabiamila’s office was allocated N21 billion in the 2024 budget for the renovation of his official residence and for software, despite the economic crisis plaguing the country.
These controversial and unusually large allocations sparked outrage among Nigerians, who accused the government of wasting resources while citizens struggle with hunger.
