JUST IN: AFCON QUALIFIERS: Super Eagles Set to Fly Back Home After Maltreatment By Libyan Football Federation

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are preparing to fly back home after enduring over 13 hours of discomfort at Libya’s Al Abraq Airport.

The team landed in Libya for their AFCON qualifying match but has reportedly been stranded at the airport without basic necessities such as food and WiFi.

It was learnt that the chartered ValueJet aircraft was, strangely and in a dangerous manner, diverted to the small airport away from Benghazi just as the pilot was completing his approach to the Benghazi Airport.

Fatigued players and officials have remained nonplussed as the host Libyan Football Federation failed to send any reception team or even vehicles to take the delegation members from the airport to their hotel, said to be 3 hours away in Benghazi.
