Hardship: I Have Been Out of Government for Almost 10 Years, I Cannot Afford Eggs in My House — Ex-Governor Suswam

Former Benue State governor Gabriel Suswam has expressed his concern over the worsening economic hardship in Nigeria, stating that the price of a crate of eggs has skyrocketed from less than N1,000 to N10,000.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Suswam highlighted the struggles faced by Nigerians, emphasizing that many cannot afford basic necessities, including eggs.

Suswam, who left office nearly a decade ago, urged Chief Bola Tinubu to urgently reevaluate his economic team and convene a meeting to address the pressing economic challenges.

He pointed out that citizens are also struggling to afford transportation to work, further exacerbating their difficulties in providing for their families.

Suswam stated, “A crate of eggs that was less than N1,000 is N10,000 now. So it means that me and you can’t afford to eat eggs in our houses. I left government for almost 10 years.

“The President should call a meeting not just on economics; people cannot transport themselves to their offices, people cannot afford to feed their families,” he added.
