Renowned and multi-award-winning musician Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed his intention to take an extended leave from the music industry.
In a recent series of Instagram posts, the artist, famous for hits like “Essence,” declared his plan to step away from the music scene for a duration of four to five years.
During this break, he hinted at the possibility of pursuing other interests, including football or golf.
Writing in broken English, he revealed, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small, or maybe five, or I fit still go dey play ball now.

“Or make I start dey play golf. fifa or wrestling b*tch!”All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad.
He also conveyed his well wishes to his fans, saying, “On some G shit, I hope you mofuckas alright body mind and soul and taking time out to enjoy with your loved ones.”
This isn’t the first time Wizkid has hinted at taking a break from the music industry.
In 2019, he previously mentioned his temporary departure, tweeting from his X account, “Gone till March! Thank you.”
Fans and the music industry will be eagerly awaiting Wizkid’s return as they prepare for this extended hiatus from the celebrated artist.
