We Won’t Allow Results From Govt House — Wike Warns Against Electoral Malpractice in 2027 Elections

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has warned that no results from the Rivers State House of Assembly will be allowed to reach the government house during the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, Wike cautioned against any attempt to manipulate election results, stating it would not be tolerated.

Wike also criticized those shifting blame for electoral issues, adding that political opponents should not expect to engage in electoral misconduct without consequences.

Wike stated, “You shift blame to other people and that is not acceptable. You have seen APC and PDP, which is a rainbow coalition of what will happen in 2027.

“I don’t know what will happen in 2027, what will happen in this state in 2027. The LG election is not a general election.

“Do you think we will allow you to carry the results sheet to the government house and then announce it without scores?

“[Who] would allow you in general elections? It is not going to be possible. So don’t make that kind of mistake. We never contested the local government election.”

The warning comes amid ongoing political tensions between Wike and Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, over control of the state’s political landscape, despite efforts by chief Bola Tinubu to mediate the dispute.
