The Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, honored the invitation of the Ooni of Ife by attending the monarch’s 50th birthday celebration.
The event, which drew notable figures from across the nation, was a significant occasion to celebrate the life and reign of the revered traditional ruler.
Peter Obi shared the news of his visit via his X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing his admiration for the Ooni’s contributions to the preservation of Yoruba culture and national unity.
As part of his visit, Obi also had the honor of commissioning the Oduduwa House, a monumental structure donated by Sir Dr. Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu, the esteemed Odole Oodua of the Source.
The commissioning of the Oduduwa House further underscores its significance as a symbol of Yoruba heritage, and Obi commended Dr. Adebutu for his philanthropy and dedication to cultural preservation.
“Today, I travelled by road from Lagos to the ancient city of Ile-Ife to honour the 50th birthday ceremony invitation of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and to commission the Oduduwa House donated by Sir Dr Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole – Oodua of the source.
