On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed treason charges against 119 Nigerians, who had been detained since August for participating in the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Presiding judge Obiora Egwuatu struck out the case after M.D. Abubakar, counsel to the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), filed an application to take over and withdraw the charges.
During the session, Abubakar requested the court to permit the AGF to assume control of the case and discontinue it.
Earlier, SaharaReporters revealed that, after being denied entry at Kuje Prison, the malnourished minors among the detainees were held by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in an adult facility at the Intelligence Response Team unit in Apo, Federal Capital Territory.
According to sources, 24 minors were granted bail under strict conditions by Justice Obiora Egwuatu, though around 20 of them had been hospitalized at an undisclosed facility, SaharaReporters learned Friday night.

Earlier on Monday, President Bola Tinubu ordered the release of the underage detainees who were arraigned at the Abuja Federal High Court on Friday, November 1, following widespread national and international condemnation.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared the news with State House correspondents during an emergency briefing at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
