Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist Deji Adeyanju took a jab at Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), suggesting it could “rescue” Democratic candidate Kamala Harris from her projected defeat by Republican Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential race.
On Wednesday, Adeyanju posted a satirical comment on his X (formerly Twitter) account, implying that if the U.S. election were conducted by INEC, the results could be altered.
Accompanying his post with an image of INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the commission’s logo, Adeyanju wrote, “INEC can still save Kamala. What INEC cannot do does not exist. They can switch off the server or change results on IREV.”

The post sparked reactions from followers, many of whom commented on the perceived credibility gap between the U.S. election process and Nigeria’s, particularly referencing last year’s election fraudulently won by Bola Tinubu.
Adeyanju, a vocal critic of the 2023 Nigerian general election outcome, added, “Yakubu will now be screaming on top of his voice, GO TO COURT.”
Parallel Facts reports that Donald Trump has been officially declared the 47th U.S. president, defeating incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris.
