Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has sharply criticized U.S. foreign policy in Africa, asserting that former President Donald Trump’s approach, which included withdrawing U.S. troops from the continent, is more beneficial to Africa than the policies of former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and President Joe Biden.
In a post on his official X handle, Hundeyin argued that despite Trump’s controversial reputation, his policy of reducing U.S. involvement in Africa would allow African nations to strengthen their own political and economic systems without foreign interference.
Hundeyin lambasted the liberal establishment for its role in Africa’s struggles, claiming that U.S. military interventions, including bombing sorties and diplomatic efforts, have had disastrous effects on the continent.
Hundeyin’s words, “Even if this turns out to be just talk, it is 1000% better for the interests of Africa to have a US president and VP who see foreign policy in these terms, not the ones whose only contributions to Africa are culture wars, shooting wars and aid. True liberation for Africa and African people worldwide will only come from building strong African nation-states that provide an economic and political deterrent to the mistreatment of Africans.
“It will not come from the worthless sermonising of western oyibo liberals who are like lions that pretend to be vegetarian. Over the past 14 years alone, this liberal establishment headlined by Barack Obama and Joe Biden has used the US military, intelligence services and diplomatic influence to destroy Africa’s most powerful nation-state (Libya), destroy what should have been Africa’s first trillion-dollar economy by 2024 (Nigeria), derail the development of East Africa’s regional shining light (Kenya), and accelerate the balkanisation of the Horn of Africa region.
“So when I see university-educated Nigerians joining their blue-haired, nose-ringed liberal brethren and sistren from yonder to sniff their noses at Donald Trump, I can only pity them. The lion that has spent 14 years systematically targeting and eating your family embers has made friends with you by pretending to only eat seaweed and tofu, and he has told you that the wolf outside is your enemy.

“Me, I cannot beg anybody to understand their place in the world. It’s way too late for that. Me, I know that even if the US president is Krusty the Krab, my only concern should be whether his Africa policy leaves Africa alone to develop its own powerful nation-states or not.
“The racist Donald Trump who withdraws US troops from Africa and largely leaves the continent alone is a gift compared to the not-racist Obama-Hilary-Biden people who flew 7,000 bombing sorties in 9 months to reduce Africa’s most powerful nation-state into the mess it is today,” Hundeyin added.
