Two suspects in the death of Nigerian hip hop artiste, llerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, have been denied bail by a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba on Monday, November 6, 2023.
The suspects are Fisayo Ogedengbe, a 37-year-old auxiliary nurse, and Ayobani Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad’s. They were arrested by the police for allegedly administering injections that led to the singer’s death.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered that the suspects be remanded in police custody, pending the completion of investigation and the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The magistrate said that granting bail to the suspects could jeopardize the investigation and allow them to tamper with evidence or witnesses.
Meanwhile, two other suspects in the case, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, who was Mohbad’s former boss, and Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, a Lagos socialite, were granted bail in the sum of N20 million each by the same court.
