Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has asserted that he will leave office without fear of being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or any other anti-corruption agency.
Speaking at the Feast of Christ the King Mass held at the Government House Chapel in Owerri, Uzodimma stated that his tenure has been marked by integrity and fulfillment of promises made to the people of Imo State.
“I will leave office a free man, sleep with my two eyes closed without being afraid of anybody, including the EFCC”, the governor declared.
He also challenged anyone with evidence of wrongdoing during his administration to present it.
Uzodimma expressed confidence in the legacy of prosperity, infrastructure development, and dignity that his administration is building for the state.
His remarks come in the wake of the EFCC’s recent arrest of former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa over allegations of misappropriating N1.3 trillion.
